Privacy

NPC.LIFE is a tiny village that keeps living in your browser — you create one NPC and look out for them. Here's exactly what we do and don't do with your data.

Your game never leaves your device

Your NPC, your village, and all of your progress are stored only in your own browser's local storage, on your own device. We don't operate a server that holds your game, and we have no way to see your NPC, your village, or anything that happens in it.

What we do measure

We use Google Analytics 4 to count anonymous visits and basic usage events — things like a page loading or a button being used — so we can tell whether the site is working and whether anyone is finding it. This is aggregate traffic measurement, not a record of your gameplay: it never includes your NPC's name, your village's state, or anything that happens inside the game itself.

We don't sell data, we don't use it for ad personalization, and we don't share it beyond what Google Analytics itself requires to function.

If you're in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland

Analytics is off by default for visitors in the EU/EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, using Google's Consent Mode. Basic, non-personalized measurement is on by default everywhere else. There's no cookie banner because there's nothing to opt into beyond this — no ad cookies, no personalization, no tracking across other sites.

No accounts, no personal data

There's no sign-up, no login, and no form on this site that asks for personal information. The only personal data we ever see is an email address, if you choose to write to us.

Treats aren't purchasable yet (see Treats). When they launch, a purchase will happen on our payment provider's own secure checkout page, not on this site — we never see or store your card details.

All ages

NPC.LIFE is family-friendly, suitable for all ages — no violence, no explicit content, no chat with strangers.
